The Saffron Harvest
I really enjoy cooking with spices and exotic ingredients, have always loved Middle Eastern food and the scent of saffron conjures up images and memories from when I lived in Paris in the 1970's and the left bank was full of Morrocan and Tunisian restaurants and cake shops. There I tasted some of the best cakes and pastries I've ever had in my life. And of course I got quite fat! With age comes restraint and more joy in the sight of the saffron crocus as they pop up daily in my garden at this time of year.
