What are we all about?

The focus of this blog is simple - and that's the goal too. A more simple way of life. A life in tune with the rhythms of nature and of human nature. Where everything has its time and place and purpose, including us.

We have left the rat race behind and taken on new challenges. We aim to tread as lightly as we can upon the planet, to reconnect with nature, to eat good food, drink excellent wine, enjoy the best of company.... even if that is sometimes just our own! Please feel free to eavesdrop from time to time on our lives and see how we are doing and if you are ever in Extremadura... drop us an email and we'll give you directions.

Almost, not quite..

Everyone I meet asks me, are you all set?  Ready for the off?  Is it going through this time?

The only reply I can give is... almost, not quite.  or Nearly.

We signed the contract, our buyers need to sign it now.  Their solicitor is in London so it will take a day or two for them to do that, basically by the end of this week we should have exchanged contracts.  We have set a tentative moving date of 16th November - our buyers are happy with this date too so we have felt confident enough to get started booking the cats travel.

Wooster and Molly are going by van/car.  With a company called Pet Chauffeurs.  I spoke with the gentleman this morning and he was very helpful and very reassuring.

They will be in a large cage together and they will be able to see out the window.  The same person will be feeding and tending to them throughout the trip and they won't be staying in a hotel, they carry enough drivers to do the whole trip in one go... taking two days of course.  It's a big weight off my mind and worth every penny just to know that they are in good hands.

We shall be travelling by road too, with Fergus.

We shall take our time and try and enjoy the trip.  After all, it is an adventure, leaving the UK behind for our new life in Spain.  No ties, no mortgage to pay, no bills other than petrol and food... We might even go off route if we want to see a little more of the countryside, there is no rush since my daughter will be at our destination to see the cats safely into the house for us.  A little bit of the gypsy in me is very excited about the journey.
