Getting Back on Track

Things here have been a little more Techno than Billy of late... and that's not how it was supposed to be. The wonderful idea of de-cluttering by putting lots of my useless junk (but other people's treasures) onto ebay was a good one in principle. What has ended up happening is that I am back to being a slave to my computer... I had got myself into a habit of only switching it on once or twice a week but of course I have had to switch it on every day to check if anything has sold, how many watchers I have or if anyone has asked questions... and I have left it on all day using up electricity (albeit not much, but its the principle of the thing), it's taking up soooo much time...

....and it's not just ebay that is ruling my life. I have a word document that I use as a menu planner for the week. On a Friday morning I update it with the meals for the following week and from it I compile a shopping list... I then print it out and take it with me to Sainsburys. Well that's all fine and good when everything works, it should take only minutes to do. Except this morning my computer crashed twice and then wouldn't recognise the printer so I transferred the document to a data stick - which BillySteve said could be plugged directly into the printer... which of course for some reason took ten minutes before recognising the data stick... and of course I wasn't allowed to simply get a pen and a piece of paper... Oh no, I had to sit while the Techno stuff was investigated to find out why it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do... THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TIME AND LABOUR SAVING GADGETS... I think not! Sometimes I really hate technology!!

In an effort to get back to doing more 'billy' stuff, I am embarking on a little project, which requires some skip raiding skills, some making/craft skills and some cooking skills.... I shall take photographs along the way and update you in a couple of days. In the meantime I shall try a more philosophical approach to the computer!

  1. Oooohh, can't wait for your skip diving antics, let us know what you find.

Fingers crossed my computer is running ok at the moment, but if it decides to play up then it's straight on the phone to my computer man I'm afraid. If it costs me £30 for him to come and fix it, then so be it.
